For recycling, charcoal filters must be used and should never be washed. They should be changed every 6 -10 months, according to the frequency of use of the cookerhood.
There will be a reduction in the rate of extraction as the air now has to move through the charcoal filters as well.
There may be a slight increase in noise level, as additional pressure is placed on the motor.
Make sure that the airflow can leave without obstruction: no furniture or racks, which could stop the exit of air.
